Managing Director extraordinaire, Derry O'Brien has over 28 years experience in international services in the music, TV and film sector with both EMI and the Irish Trade Board and the establishment of Network Ireland Television in 1995, in his latter position. Derry was responsible for the inauguration of the Ireland on Screen joint marketing initiative at MIPTV and MIPCOM from 1991-1995, which is still operating strongly today in support of the Irish TV and film industry at these major markets.
Favourite conversation starters include casual references to attending the Oscars in 2011, and meeting various celebs out there like Jessie Eisenberg and Jennifer Lawrence and Brian F O'Byrne. As well as meeting some of his musical heroes over the years, like Macca, Van, and even Clifford T. Ward. Florence, Tom Petty and Jimmy Buffet are just friends who haven't met Derry yet.
Sales and Acquisitions Executive. Sadhbh has worked in Network Ireland Television since 2007. She helps acquire the best content out there for the catalogue, and works closely with our regular buyers and festivals. She also liaises with our producer/filmmakers, from consulting them on their festival circuit to reporting on sales.
Her background is in international TV distribution working in Alliance Atlantis's Dublin operational office before coming to NITV. And it all started with a History degree in college - isn't it funny where life takes you! She is rather partial to attending the odd fabulous film festival.
Media Content Manager. Gary handles all of the technical elements here at NITV, including coordinating broadcast specs with clients, video editing, collecting materials from producers, file transcoding, DVD duplication, web management, and graphic design.
Gary did Audio Visual Media at ITT Dublin and has a Masters in Film from NUI Galway. Gary met Derry at the Bristol Encounters Film Festival in 2012 and has not stopped bothering him since.
Office Manager. Aoife graduated from a BA (Hons) Business with Arts Management degree in 2006.
She has worked as Transmission Editor at TV3 and also as Press and Publicity Assistant at Alliance Atlantis Dublin office where she met Sadhbh! She took some time out of the media world in 2011 to teach English in Prague and loved it but is now happy to be back on home soil.
Aoife joined the NITV team in January 2014 and has enjoyed her role as Office Manager/Derry’s PA since then. She says the role is really fun and interesting, and enjoys watching short films as part of her job!
